Bake Sale for Japan - A Success!

I had a great time with the other food bloggers at the Bake Sale for Japan out at the Brooklyn Flea.  Not sure how much we raised, but the table was packed for the entire 4 hours that I was there!  See some pics below:

Happy Thanksgiving!  Tomorrow is Black Friday - the official start of the holiday shopping season.  I've assembled a list of my favorite cookbooks, food magazines, kitchen equipment, and other ideas for the aspiring chef on your holiday gift list.  Everything I recommend is a product that I own and use, unless otherwise stated.

As lovers of cheese, we didn't live in Manhattan long before discovering Murray's Cheese in the West Village.  Murray's has an excellent selection, and their employees know everything there is to know about cheese (and they let you sample everything).  A few weeks ago, we decided to take one of their cheese courses - Cheese 101.  It was well worth it!

Explore: Upper West Side Farmers/Flea Market

On Sundays, there is an excellent farmers and flea market in a schoolyard at Columbus Ave and West 77th Street.  We went there today to pick up some veggies and look around.
