Notes: When making scones, always use cold butter. The buttermilk in this recipe can be replaced with heavy cream, if desired. These scones can be made savory, by adding herbs, cheese, or bacon. Or, you could make them sweet, by using the max amount of sugar and adding your favorite berries, jam, and/or chocolate chips. If adding chocolate chips, add an extra 0.25tsp salt and an extra tsp of baking powder.
