Bake: Blondies

If you think chocolate chip cookies are addictive, wait until you try these blondies.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

8 tbsp unsalted butter, plus more for greasing the pan
0.75 c brown sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1.5 c flour
1 tsp salt
0.5 tsp baking soda
3 oz dark chocolate, chopped

(1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees
(2) Grease an 8x8 baking pan with butter
(3) Beat butter until creamy

(4) Add brown sugar, mix until combined

(5) Beat in eggs, one at a time

(6) In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda

(7) Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients

(8) Fold in chocolate

(9) Evenly spread batter into the baking pan

(10) Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the top is golden brown

(11) Let cool for about 5 minutes

Notes: For the chocolate, make sure you use at least 60% cacao (I used 70%).  You can add walnuts if you like that sort of thing.

Love this, and I add pecans to this. Also gave these away at Christmas for food gifts. They are wonderful.
